The Treaty Tribes Coalition is confident a UN Committee on eliminating racial discrimination will make recommendations against the Government's Foreshore and Seabed Act.
Members of the Coalition, which represents Hauraki, Ngati Kahungunu, Ngai Tamanuhiri and Ngai Tahu, along with the Te Whanau a Apanui, the Maori Party and Non-Government Organisations from Aotearoa, presented their views to the Committee in Geneva, Switzerland, early this morning (New Zealand time).
Ngahiwi Tomoana, the Chairman of Ngati Kahungunu, said the Maori representatives briefed the committee about Maori concerns over the New Zealand Government's actions regarding customary title to the foreshore and seabed. "We have successfully assisted the Committee to identify key issues affecting Maori in Aotearoa New Zealand. Te Reo Maori was spoken in the UN and our karanga was heard," Mr Tomoana said.
The Committee is made up of world renowned experts, and is the specialist body of the United Nations on preventing racial discrimination and promoting racial equality. In 2005, it found the Foreshore and Seabed Act to discriminate against Maori.
The New Zealand Government's presentation to the committee followed the presentation from Treaty Tribes and other groups.
Mr Tomoana said that when the Committee began to examine New Zealand, members urged the Government to recognise that special measures targeting Maori and other ethnic communities were not pampering to Maori, rather they were part of the duty of the State to ensure equality.
"We expect the committee will be critical of New Zealand's failure to follow their recommendations in 2005. It will be up to the public of New Zealand to hold them to account and see that they do follow-up on the recommendations," he said.
The Committee also called the Government to account on: Responses to the Committee's recommendation that the Foreshore and Seabed Act be amended; The legal status and political treatment of the Treaty of Waitangi; The adequacy of Treaty settlements as redress for historical wrongs, on the basis that Treaty settlements amount to approximately 1-2% of the actual loss suffered by Maori; The recent review of programmes targeted to Maori, and appeared concerned that programmes were being reduced rather than strengthened.
I feel people are calling for an opinion: if not, turn away now! If you've seen the news about abuse namely in Rotorua NZ of late, you will notice that in a huge area that inspired the book by Alan Duff 'Once Were Warriors', most if not nearly all the people in positions of power making policy and support are white, unbelievable!!!!! open 'ya fucking eyes, racists.
I hate reverse racists too and there are many(and they don't seem to recognise either) it's called abuse and real ignorance but I am not surprised.
oh and ban Microsoft or ignore them but how will you if they sell 'your future' to the military as they wish to make everything technological including education(Kids, isn't that brainwashing as they say on the news while advertising corporations bias? I am always surprised at young people who are willing to give away basic civil liberties that keep us free, as they don't know or have not experienced what they are, isn't that misinformation by not telling the whole truth as the PM might say? Do you think they made their money off you!? or the armies who fight and support each other in Iraq and so on... which is based on a lie!(and you don't accept that in personal relationships but international governmental weapons trading that kills millions is fine), excuse me. They called Ghandhi a terrorist, like I've said they keep moving the goal posts and the only way to stop it is to stop playing by choice, doesn't mean you still don't have choices,it's the same game so get a new one capiche and get real for fucks suck by being prepared like you are when you go on hoilday etc etc etc Words and paper remain strong and communication can remain free, in cyberspace it is always under scrutiny, always and who is watching the watchers? you don't need to watch if you don't hand them or accept their power positioning they choose at our expense.
Things are gonna change, I don't know how yet but they will!! and not giving mandate by not voting might be a start but if you think that's where I end then your wrong; and I am fully aware of my use or abuse by the enemy by proxy, meaning we all are not yet 'free'.
Chaos is modern capitalism not peace and freedom, make sure the doctor checks ya hearing.
Yes they protect freedom or are they just mad with battle lust, army "newz" is hardly impartial and if anything disgusting, 'hey guys fire at what we tell you, who cares if it's right or not, follow orders', freedumb huh! did anyone look in charge here, no! now that's chaos and you vote for the system that upholds them by mandate, take responsibility for yourself and the community that supports you not the system that denies basic civil liberties, how do you know what they are if you haven't seen them.
Globilisation (And The Metaphysics of Control) - cool cartoonz
One of the worlds` most accomplished long-distance swimmers staged a unique form of one-man protest today to demonstrate the drastic impact of global warming at the North Pole. Lewis Gordon Pugh, a British citizen nicknamed ``the polar bear`` officially became the first person to swim at the North Pole after he completed a 1KM swim in the frigid waters on Monday.
The mere fact that Pugh was able to swim the Arctic, serves as testament that our climate is undergoing some complex ecological changes. In an interview conducted shortly before Pugh`s extreme polar swim he declared the political motivation behind his latest feat. "This will be, by far, the hardest swim I've ever undertaken. I hope it will help illustrate the incredible seriousness of climate change and put pressure on the leaders of the G8 summit to cut carbon emissions dramatically.``
Ecogeek, a widely-read environmental blog, noted that the arctic is now predominantly covered with water as opposed to a solid ice sheet. Their post documented Pugh`s experience in Arctic and long-distance swimming, `` Pugh previously achieved a cold-temperature swim record of 1 kilometer at 32 degrees off the coast of Antarctica wearing only a swim cap and Speedos. Now he's going to beat that, with 1 kilometer at 29 degrees at the North Pole.`` For those of us on the metric system, 29 degrees translates to a chilly 1.9 Celsius.
The author of EcoGeek`s post noted that Pugh`s attempt signified that we are past the breaking point for the effect of global warming on our ecosystem. ``It's not going to be a pleasant swim, but that's not the point. The point is that there is water at all. A mere five years ago, this would have been impossible. And now, there's going to be a guy swimming at the North Pole!``
Rumors of Pugh`s historic dip first started circulating in the green blogosphere several months ago in a post on Treehugger, who immediately pointed to the political nature of the event by stating ``he is doing this to highlight the impact of climate change--such a swim would have been impossible as little as 10 years ago.`` The rapidly deteriorating conditions in the Arctic have been extensively documented and predictions for the future are dire. In their post, Treehugger offered some insight on global warmings` impact on the Arctic. ``Experts predict that by 2040, the Arctic may be nearly devoid of sea ice during the late summer unless greenhouse gas emissions are significantly curtailed.``
Seemingly inspired by Pugh`s record attempt, Treehugger`s latest post also carries news of an attempt at a long-distance swim across the Baltic Sea. A Lithuanian man plans to swim from Sweden to Latvia in order to draw attention to the massive amount of pollution in the popular shipping route. The total trip is expected to be longer than 150 KM, and it serves as another example of how far some concerned greens are willing to go to raise awareness about the effects of global warming and pollution on our planets waterways.

Myanmar: Jon Gadsby/Intrepid Journeys/TVNZ Website
Day 1 - Yangon It's much more splendid than I expected - the effect of the temples. There's an odd juxtaposition between the beautifully kept majesty of the pagodas and the faded glory of the colonial era. It's amazing being here now, but I'd have loved to have seen this place 100 years ago. There is less of a military presence than I expected. You don't see it so much as feel it& locals especially. They seem happy but slightly subdued.
Day 2 - road to Kalor The bus resembled a mobile bordello - mirrors, chandeliers etc and broke down& often. Stopped at a place called Bago for morning tea - gave money to a child monk. No thanks given. Little bastard. It's getting noticeably more "third world" as we get further from Yangon. Encounter the dreaded squat toilet - first of many. Two thirds of the world uses squats, we are in the minority. Long may it stay that way! The driving defies description but there seems to be some strange method to the madness - or at least a pecking order. I only saw sign of one accident the whole day. Amazing, given the roads and the traffic!
Day 3 - road to Kalor Mosquito attack. Woke up with right eye swollen closed in "The house of the rising mosquito". On the road, I'm climbing higher and the country is changing. It's looking more affluent - slightly. The houses are better standard. I saw a tractor and a diesel water pump and a gravel crusher. Landscape looks very like the Coromandel without the tree ferns. The bus broke down again. Local kids attracted by swollen eye. Very compassionate. They had nothing but still wanted to help me. SweSwe Min& wonder where she'll be in 12 years. Condemned to a life of drudgery, I suspect, unless she marries a General. More breakdowns. The people are amazingly friendly. They don't want money so much as interaction. Of course they do want money - desperately, but it's not their major motivation. Arrived in Kalor. Bus broke down again.
Day 4 - Kalor Hired bikes and headed for town. A guy tried to charge 3000 kyat for ride around the block on his tractor/taxi. Settled for 500. Met Jimmy at tearooms. He would take us to mountain village for festival. "Vegetarians who eat pork on special occasions" yeah right. 10,000 kyat - came down to 5000. The tractor taxi broke down the moment the main road turned into a track. The driver tried to negotiate steep clay track with totally bald tyres. Like ice. Nearly went over the cliff. Pulled out by Toyota and dog. Bugger. Jimmy must have known we never had a prayer of making it, but refused to let the money just walk away. I like Kalaw. Noticeable Indian and Pakistani population. Beautiful faded houses and grounds& You can buy a mansion for 9000 US or less, so I'm told.
Day 5 - Inle Lake Leaving on the 9.30 train& expect it around 11.00...10.50 depart. Woman with cauliflowers in 1st class. The train keeps stopping for black market wood "for the drivers' families". Police on train of course - they share the wood, naturally. Very resourceful people. The penalty for cutting wood is three years. What would you have to do to get that in NZ? Assault with intent to GBH? Attempted murder? Tonight, there was a Shan feast and dancers at my guesthouse. A little girl in the audience copied every movement. Sad place. All the tourists have gone. The guesthouse owner may have to send his daughters to work in Thailand.
Day 6 - Inle Lake Rode riverboats on Inle Lake through miles of canals to the floating village market. I was besieged by souvenir hawkers - very persistent. The had beautiful stuff and bargained hard. Visited 1000s of ruined, mini-pagodas covering an entire hillside.
Day 7 - Inle Lake Visited an old monastery - canoe trip along canals like Wind in the Willows. Where I stopped, Monk No 1 had gone to town, so I sat and talked with Monk No 2. He was reserved at first, but then opened up. Turns out he is an ex-judge of 38 years. He showed me his room& like an American college kid's - sports posters, bright pictures etc. Saw some 'paint pots'. They turned out to be the makings of betel nut chewing. He demonstrated, including taking his teeth out to show brightly betel stained dentures. This is the equivalent of the Archbishop taking you to his bedroom and rolling a joint! Leaving, he said he'd left school in 1942. I asked about Japs. Very Very Bad he said!!! Visited a local stilt-house. I am Amazed at the spartan nature& no furniture, just two or three mats on bamboo floor.
Day 9 - Mandalay The city is nowhere near the size of Yangon, and lacks its vitality. I took boat across the river to a one-third-built ruined temple, and the world's largest uncracked bell. I rang it three times which is supposed to be lucky. I was beseiged by a gaggle of kids and teenagers trying to sell things. They 'adopt' a tourist. It breaks your heart. They're very poor, but happy and laughing& rapacious in their little way, but they haven't quite learned the tourist tricks yet. They're not completely hard, so far. There are rumours floating about that Aung San Suu Kyi has been released to home detention. Just rumours I suspect.
Day 10 - Irrywaddy River This is an impressive set up. There is a big boat ready for me with beds made up and tables set out in the shade. I have heard more rumours of another announcement - last night's announcement was wrong. The Lady is still under detention and now on a hunger strike. Talk is that if she gets sick there will be major civil disorder, riots etc. I am heading for Bagan. On the banks there are temples and stupa as far as the eye can see - even in the middle of poor farmland. There are 1000s of them. I can't help but think, what has this cost? Where else could these vast amounts of money have been spent?
Day 11 - Bagan A mosquito night, but not too bad. I stopped at a village and gave clockwork Kiwi to little kid. It was broken in 5 minutes. They're lovely children everywhere here. They have nothing, but they're happy. I arrive in Bagan. Now this is a truly ridiculous number of temples and pagoda&over 5000 in a town about the size of Matamata. They are everywhere. I attend a festival. The whole town was there to celebrate the beginning of work on rebuilding an ancient palace. Bit like an AMP Show - truck grandstands etc.
Day 12 - Bagan More temples. Getting annoyed at the kids telling lies. They're all saying they're orphans now, which they're not. Also people spitting on the floor. Why do they insist on us taking our shoes off etc, if they're going to defile their own holy places in this way. Temples, temples& why all these bloody temples? Couldn't someone tell them to stop?
Day 13 - Yangon Whistle stop plane flight back to Yangon. There is a strong military presence around local airports. After some thought, I've decided I should have been here. There's a sad beauty about Myanmar and a similar sad beauty about its people. I'm on my way home. They are trapped here. It's a paradox. Without meaning to be trite - a poor country with a deep richness of spirit - a rich country that has been made poor. It's a beautiful country, this Myanmar, achingly so. It's full of beautiful people who make you want to cry& whether that's out of joy or frustration, I don't know. Above all, it's a place of contradiction. I think contact, rather than isolation will fuel the forces of change. The free flow of commerce, ideas and people will help to disentangle the knot. It's hard to leave without thinking of Swe Swe Min and Jo Jo and Mai Maise, and wondering what will become of them. I hope someone calls a mis-deal and they get dealt a better hand next time. In the meantime& another gold leaf goes onto a temple - and another little girl takes the road to Thailand. Is this what Buddha would have wanted?
Missed Gaylordz but herd were old skool punk rock and are playing the upcoming Sharkfest in Wellington , NZ, end of July.
Goodtimes: one of my favourite bands at mo, seem to have added some crust and some more thrash sprinkled here and there and the obligatory breakdown but not too much, as they say, just right.
Girls have got Rhythm maaan, I don't know what it is, don't get me wrong and man can these gals play but just ta mention a few of my fave's, 'punchbowl', 'poodles' and of course the afore mentioned. I love the drummer, she bangs them like a fox( and I ain't being filthy neiver)people who see em or hear em will know what I mean and I still love the dual vocals, they just go so well together.(sum members are moving to AK so we will see what happens nxt.)

and Cherries incarnation as of now is meaaanas, if like Grrlish alt punk etc, sum songs are instant classiks.
Starcruizer are original, can make you move and they don't even have a singer like woa, I don't say these things lightly, just good sounds that rock, as it were, for fans of Spacemen 3 and The Gordons(NZ FNun band.)similar but different if ya catch my drift.
both from Wellington, New Zealand and theres lots of bands I don't rate at all for their unoriginality and disengenuousness, yes it's good to make an effort but when it's good it's good.
I just want people to enjoy and appreciate these groups who aren't 'cool' enough, yet.
I got a tape off one of the members at the pub off the cuff, recorded in a bedroom on a 4 track and was blown away and realised there were no vocals and still loved it and that's not me, saying there was more to the whole package.
Cherries have recordings but this incarnation is ta buzinass, don't get me wrong I'm no fanboy just gushing about stuff I have fallen in love with immediately and their underacheivement and me going wow! doesn't happen very often and I am almost so honest to a default so there ya go, I see no reason in untruth as it's not art bla bla bla, of course theres acting but that is only 'part' of.
I rex Radiohead ripped this song hard for Creep and well done as it's hard to tell and instilled with genuine feeling and artistic merit, anywayyy....here tis.
This womyn had one of the biggest voice in blues and soul I had ever heard,. this ain't the best but from a famous movie and you can find stuff for yaself etc.

Welcome weary travellers. We know it's been awhile. Fear not, we have things to inform you of.
AUGUST BRINGS 4 NEW RELEASES FROM G7 ------------------------------------
You don't have to hide it, nor be ashamed. We've heard the murmurs; the whispers on the street; the hushed gossip at the water-cooler; the uninformed, poorly-punctuated and de-capitalized ramblings on internet message boards ...
Is G7 ever going to release another recording? Was this "digital transition" all a facade behind which they are preparing to shut the whole operation down?
Well, yeah, that was the plan. But! We changed our minds, and now we bring you not 1 ... not 2 ... not 3... but 4 new digital albums on August 28th!
THE REBEL SPELL
You know, for a "punk" label, we sure haven't put out many "punk" albums. In fact, you know what? If someone had of told me a year ago that there was a "really great young punk band" coming up, I would have stuck a broom-stick in a pail of wet cement, let it dry, gotten up on a ladder - naked - laughing hysterically while pointing at the person who said it and then jumped as high as I could in the air with my legs spread, impaling my own asshole on said broomstick, gasping and convulsing but still pointing and trying to laugh at said person while my eyes watered uncontrollably.
But then along came a band from East Vancouver called THE REBEL SPELL. And I stopped laughing. I even put my pants back on (though slowly).
It has been a very, very, very long time since a punk band has reached through the speakers and made me believe something was going on beyond the requisite and obvious elements that make one stop and listen to a "good" punk band. Something is going on here. It's not something you can try to put your finger on without sounding like an ass, but I'm not being glib when I say that I feel something unusual and important will come of this seemingly conventional street-punk band. Mark that bold and cryptic statement on your calendar people. Don't come crying to me in 5 years if you miss this boat and are subsequently left without any street-cred YOU FUCKING POSER.
Not surprisingly then, we're genuinely (yes, genuinely) excited to bring you the digital release of their 2005 album "Days of Rage", and a brand new EP entitled "Four Songs About Freedom".

JAMAICA PLAIN
Speaking of not being considered "punk" ... next up, we bring you Jamaica Plain, MA's Chris Pastor, otherwise known as JAMAICA PLAIN (I'm going to start a band called Portage La Prairie by the way). Four years ago, Chris Pastor sent us his first self-produced CD entitled "Letters to the Leader". When we put it on we literally could not believe what we were hearing. Some laughed. Others just stared at the stereo, apparently not sure if it was a joke or not.
So 4 years later, what do we find? Well, I believe it was nineteenth century German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer who said "All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as self-evident." Step one we thoroughly took care of, step two we avoided only by virtue of Chris Pastor living too far away to actually attack, and finally step three comes to pass as it is certainly evident to us now that Chris Pastor is a genius and that we had to be a part of JAMAICA PLAIN's completely sane insanity. He is truly a fellow traveller on this spaceship of madness.
Consequently, on August 28th we will be as giddy as school children when we present "King of Hearts" - a compilation of both JAMAICA PLAIN releases ("Letters to the Leader" and "Blue in the Face") resulting in 10 tracks of pure synth-pop genius. You heard that right. Synth. Pop. As in: Pet Shop Boys meets a guy completely at the end of his rope.

HEAD HITS CONCRETE
Lastly, we present our 3rd "Anthology" to date. Rising from the literal and aesthetic ashes of SWALLOWING SHIT, Winnipeg's HEAD HITS CONCRETE pummelled and bashed and weirded and jarred their way through 5 years of existence before choking on their own vomit in 2004. We now present their entire recorded output of this all-out insanity in one digital album. HEAD HITS CONCRETE's "Thy Kingdom Come Undone (+9)" will arrive like an unexpected steel-toed boot to your aghast face August 28th.
This thing rules. If the medium is the message, then the message here is "dear occupant, there is a bulldozer full of screaming, maladjusted bangers being dropped from 13,000 feet from the cargo hold of a C-130 Hercules onto your location in T minus 3 seconds. The bulldozer is also on fire".

This entire batch of releases will be available for download as top-quality MP3s (as in, not terrible low-quality iTunes files) - along with full digital packaging - from the G7 Download Store on August 28th of this miserable year.
G7 COMMEMORATIVE BOX SET ... REDUX! -----------------------------------
54 CD'S FOR $98! 54 CD'S FOR $98!
Some of you may recall the Madness in May where we were selling 50 copies of the complete G7 CD collection - which included each of the 44 CDs we have released in our 10-year history, plus 10 extra copies of our only-ever compilation "Take Penacilin Now" - for a mere $100. You may also recall that we sold all 50 copies in under 3 hours.
Well, that had our email box overflowing with messages asking: "Are you tired of being so small? Give her a big surprise tonight ... Click here!" So, we marked those all as SPAM (Derek forwarded one to himself), and moved on to the emails from YOU, which asked: "Why only 50? Can't I please get a G7 Commemorative Box Set?!"
The fact of it is, we only had 50 of Rhythm Activism's classic "Jesus Was Gay", and we didn't want to compromise the integrity of a complete box set. However - the people have spaken, and we haveth listeneded. We are now offering the "G7 Commemorative Box Set ... Redux", which features 43 of the 44 CDs we've released (the aforementioned Rhythm Activism excluded), plus 11 extra copies of "Take Penacilin Now" for you to pass on to friends, family and presidential hopefuls. All this for $98 - shipping included!
We only have 25 of these things, and that's no joke. We also promise that this is the last time you will see the words "Commemorative" and "Box Set" in an update from us. So, as they say ... act now.

SOMEBODY LEFT THE BOOK MACHINE ON ALL NIGHT! --------------------------------------------
We've restocked out modest selection of books and our new titles are guaranteed to ensure that when the impending theocratic fascist state finally arrives, you will be the first on your block to lined up against the wall! Act now!
I thought they said that the last king of scotland was the first movie made about Idi Amin, the new version was made by Fox, what a surprise, look at the cause and you will ultimately solve the problems.
This history is hard to find and has analogies of today, people in those days didn't care either until aware and pressure so what is wrong? if you know and don't care and do nothing about i, do something, do anything, as the saying goes is better than nothing.
and nothing is what comes from nothing, a simple idea that means everything.
THE 'ZONG' MASSACRE - If you didn't know what it was called you would be disgusted how little it is historically documented, maybe not surprised but it means today is now! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cUQi6RSiZQ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zong_Massacre http://www.hullwebs.co.uk/content/j-georgians/people/william-wilberforce/slaveship-zong.htm http://www.ngbiwm.com/Exhibits/04_SlaveShipZong.pdf
Free Markets can also harm you, I have other videos on this site that discuss economic hitmen, how old is this guy? yea slavery(indentured labour) is better than actually being able to live a happy subsistence life I mean geez, what!?, look up 'economic hitman' on this blog if you want evidence.
A Parody of A Nike Commerical That Used Sportstars And Johnny Cash's 'Hurt'.
This version made me open my mouth for innovation and whatever makes a good song and now I find it's a cover and a good one, as original composition.(I first saw this live.)
They tried to get into the factory here which the owners took back after the workers got the economy back on it's feet and they could feed their kids, they eventually got in and re-'appropriated' most of the factories by peaceful force and by law. To this day, which work under all different models but the point being people work the country and they should have more of a say about how it is run and the way to do that, is to question and by action challenge the process by which we are at a whim, an absurdity I will not entertain.
Holidays In Other Peoples Misery, a band said that once...
Happiness in the Pacific: The small island state of Vanuatu. People can live long, happy lives without consuming large amounts of the ... I ain't telling you where it is and leave them alone, privacy is a tenet of freedom.
They are called one of the poorest parts of the world but they trade in tusks and are happiest in the world even than neighbouring islands as they have all they need, they have nothing to fear due to no crime, no umemployment and live very happy lives without meddling from the outside world and even trade in tusks with the state for all needs such as health, education...
The world needs to check itself and the IMF, WTO etc. are wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will defend freedom, will you join me, don't vote in this system and read, 'anarchism', we can all have a balance between progress and real happiness without all the problems that are created by this system in the first place; as a doctor would say, prevention is always better than a cure and they are stopping you having a real say in real freedom, say no!!!
"We welcome any real support for indigenous health and welfare and even two police will assist, but the Howard Government declared an emergency at our community over two years ago - when they appointed an administrator to our health clinic - and since then we have been without a doctor, we have less health workers, our council has been sacked all our youth and health programmes have been cut."
"We have no CEO and limited social and health services. The government has known about our overcrowding problem for at least 10 years and they've done nothing about it.""How do they propose keeping alcohol out of our community when we are 20 minutes away from 5 star hotel? Will they ban blacks from Yulara? Wehave been begging for an alcohol counsellor and a rehabilitation worker so that we can help alcoholics and substance abusers but those pleas have been ignored. What will happen to alcoholics when this ban is introduced? How will the government keep thegrog runners out of our community without a permit system?"
"We have tried to put forward projects to make our community economically sustainable - like a simple coffee cart at the sunrise locations - but the government refuses to even consider them."
"There is money set aside from the Jimmy Little foundation for a kidney dialysis machine at Mutitjulu, but National Parks won't let us have it. That would create jobs and improve indigenous health but they just keep stonewalling us. If there is an emergency, why won't Mal Brough fast track our kidney dialysis machine?"
"Some commentators have made much of the cluster of sexually transmitted diseases identified at our health clinic. People need to understand that Mutitjulu Health Clinic (now effectively closed) is a regional clinic and patients come from as far away as WA and SA; so to identify a cluster here is meaningless without seeing the confidential patient data."
"The fact that we hold this community together with no money, no help, no doctor and no government support is a miracle. Any community, black or white would struggle if they were denied the most basic resources. Police and the Military are fine for logistics and coordination but healthcare, youthservices, education and basic housing are more essential. Any programme must involve the people on the ground or it won't work. For example who will interpret for the military?"
"Our women and children are scared about being forcibly examined; surely there is a need to build trust. Even the doctors say they are reluctant to examine a young child without a parent's permission. Of course any child that is vulnerable or at risk should be immediately protected but a wholesale intrusion into our women and children's privacy is a violation of our human and sacred rights."
"Where is the money for all the essential services? We need long term financial and political commitment to provide the infrastructure and planning for our community. There is an urgent need for 10's of millions of dollars to do what needs to be done. Will Mr Brough give us a commitment beyond the police and military?"
"The commonwealth needs to work with us to put health and social services, housing and education in place rather than treating Mutitjulu as a political football."
But we need to set the record straight:
"There is no evidence of any fraud or mismanagement at Mutitjulu - we have had an administration for 12 months that found nothing"
"Mal Brough and his predecessor have been in control of our community for at least 12 months and we have gone backwards in services"
"We have successfully eradicated petrol sniffing from our community in conjunction with government authorities and oil companies"
"We have thrown suspected paedophiles out of our community using the permit system which our government now seeks take away from us."
"We will work constructively with any government, State, Territory or Federal that wants to help aboriginal people." - from a friend in aussie, read.
So who you voting for, connect the dots and don't.
I just gave up for a while specially after going through social inadequecy through my teenage years which is why I think some should be more grateful but I don't expect it, I have got philosophical which has become boring, not just to me haha and having it so long, well in relative terms, I'm catching up for 'bad behaviour', ah well shit happens, empathy not pity or sympathy unless your dying of course haha. It got harder as I got older as people in this country are uneducated due to research being almost non existant at the time due to financial constraints, it just sucks having this when your a punk et al and having been socially inept due to circumstance; but I am capable of getting myself out of ruts as it also builds mental toughness to a degree, it helps me to express myself and I won't have anyone tell me otherwise.
A Simple Explanation of Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes: as some people don't seem to have the foggiest
They are building what the title says that will cost billions and billions and billions....., they are saying you are with us or against us. Murder by proxy or not, that's organised crime.
On Album: 'Ain't That Good News', Banned for years due to depressing and civil rights theme but it is one of the best songs by one of the best voices in the world i think, so a travesty like the system that tries to deny our rights on a daily basis directly or indirectly, I am always humbled and inspired by this song, it keeps me strong.

They decommission navy ships who are set up for killing made from the steel of the earth and the sweat of the people to the bottom of the sea so they can make money off it: slavery.
why not take it apart: 'cause it costs to much money', to give back to the people who can use the resource of metal for other goods and not open another mine: 'but we won't make any money.'
did you get paid? it's your tax, you pay for the navy by proxy and the earth is in a crisis of ecological suffocation, they are treating you as fools baaaa.
This is how the news worked then and how the news works now, Spin is a sprinkling of truth and whole lotta lies, when things change people will always take their frustration out on organisations who they see as in coercian with their oppressors such as peasants under oligarchy, communists were not seen as the enemy and even Russia was seen as an ally at the time but the republican army was obstensibly anarchist by nature, the raised fist is not only communist and denote's solidarity and strength through the ages and you will notice the black flag during the march to denote equality(which other organisations have used, representing the same meaning, even Johnny Cash.) If anything anarchist's have learnt from the past and how to manouvre and in the scheme of things it wasn' t 'that' long ago. Communists under Stalin rule shot half the republican army and left the country to the facists which the international community ignored until the 70's when Franco died. Freedom Will Reign!
This is more accurate: 1+2 Gueneca by Picasso is based on a village in Spain during this time which faced an unwarranted attack by facists just because they could, it now hangs at the UN which the Americans and their allies covered up as though it could talk when they announced the current Iraq War, without a peep out of any other nation 'state,' collusion, too much money involved, they are not democratic. Thats why this war will never be forgotten and it's aim will live on in the hearts of all free people around the world.
This guys quite good too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOlkcHAZUR8&mode=related&search=
Noam Chomsky Interview At Berkeley University
Murray Bookchin 2004 I agree but I believe we will have to take it and that we will have to more liberal than we ever thought, put yourself in their shoes philosiphy with a basic sense of survival, this is the time.
it's very hard to stop consumption but it's very easy to curb it and then maybe stop it, much more will be done though too stop it but do your part.
Have ypu seen the cadbury ad's, gorilla's are almost instinct in poor old africa as it were where these companies don't play fair, i'm not about banning i'm about fair practice and to help humans, the eartn and all animals, it has to stop and it will!
they are raping the earth for developmant as aghamisatnis talk about their country being raped(ie: nobody does anything while ignoring heinous crimes they know happen), so how bout sustainability and progress.
People in NZ say that we're not as bad as overseas, well i've lain in gutters for ages and everybody just walks past thinking your drunk or crazy(and the mental health system can't cope), the only people that have helped me has been homies, apparently the scourge of society because they have have been disadvantaged by the system too and have experience with whanau and i'm mostly pakeha, grew up that way but understand to a degree and hate reverse racists too and they do exist and (believe me I don't trust almost anyone) as such because of their conditioning
In a country with 4 and a change million people, it shows what a system will do to condition people and find someone to enslave, ya only have ta look at kiwisaver for that, roads or free money or both, as the saying goes, nothings free which includes your real freedom!
people say the govt isn't out to get us but i will not be given opportunity while they enslave others as they enslave us all, germans said the same thing about the third reich cause they were scared, to do nothing is to deafault.
and that includes voting or taking money while theres poverty all over and it's all connected, they call it globilisation, i call it corruption.
